松月旅館 / Shogetsu Inn
八幡橋のたもとにあった松月旅館は、四代前まで小料理屋を営んでいたそうです。その名は清水亭。この界隈に小料理屋や旅館が多かったのは、その昔、荷積みした舟が八幡川まで入ってきたからです。この松月旅館前のあたりが、志津川でもっとも古い市場だったのだそうです。荷下ろしをする人々の喧騒、市場の物売りの声、行き交う人々。震災前の風景から、かつてのにぎわいを想像したものです。満月に松、そして舟をあしらった「きりこ」を作りました。

“For the future, the memories of our town, which was once full of boats and bustling with people”
The name of this inn combines the characters for “moon” and “pine tree”. In the old days, there used to be a market in front of the inn and it was always busy with fishing boats. The design features motifs of the moon, pine trees, and boats.
